Vascular Access Management in home and alternate care settings
What is the most important thing you want attendees to take away from your session?
How important it is to educate patients and caregivers on taking care of their vascular access devices in the home care setting and reporting any complications, changes in condition and concerns with patency. Importance of weekly visits and compliancy on both parties to have oversight and supervision on all vascular access devices.
Describe your first professional speaking experience?
Absolutely worth every nervous moment leading up to it. It was so empowering, engaging and noteworthy. So many networking opportunities, compliments and professional friendships made.
Excluding your session, what other topics are you passionate about in relation to the home and alternate site industry?
Hospice end of life care, continuing education and health/wellness
If you could add a word to the dictionary, what would you add and what would it mean?
DIVA - Difficult Intravenous Access Patient that have a known history of difficult IV access.
