Session Description:
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a disease representing two conditions (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis) that are characterized by chronic inflammation of the GI tract. This complex disease has various treatments, many of which are managed by home infusion providers. This session will review the etiology of the disease and current treatment trends.
Learning Objectives:
- Review the pathophysiology of IBD and characteristics and differences between Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
- Understand the diagnosis of IBD and the current treatments available for these patients.
- Review the current treatments managed by home infusion providers and how to partner with physicians in meeting positive patient outcomes.
