Lori Rubino-Chang

I am Loriann Rubino-Chang, Corporate Intake Trainer with Amerita. I have been with Amerita since our company in NJ was acquired by them in 2016. I have worked in both DME and Home Infusion since 1987. My background is in Reimbursement and Intake. I have been doing this since the days of negotiating rates with case managers and before there was Medicare D. Initially I started out in Reimbursement and was only concerned about getting the money no matter what, until one of my managers “Exiled me to Customer Serivice” to learn how to care about the patients. That was the best thing that could have happened to me. It taught me how to include the patients to assist in getting the money and expediting the authorizations. We spend more hours a day working than we spend with our families so it is very important to enjoy our jobs. I really love working in the Home Infusion industry. I never know what my day will bring and just learned to go with the flow. We never know how many referrals we will truely get in a day and how many patients we need to get on service same day but I realize every patient is someone’s mom or son or grandmother. It is important to put myself in their shoes when working on Intake or Collection issues. Prior to my current training position I was the Intake Manager for one of our largest branches. I needed to field many complaints for delayed infusions due to insurance problems but the satisfaction of resolving their issues and getting them scheduled as soon as possible was the most rewarding part of the job. I thrive on finding issues and developing processes to correct them and being able to make a company wide difference.
