Home Parenteral Nutrition (HPN) Management: Avoiding Pitfalls and Anticipating Challenges

Using a case-based approach, the 4 presenters will demonstrate the transdisciplinary approach to managing HPN patients in today’s environment of shortages, new therapies, and alternative lipids. The focus will be on adult care although pediatric implications will also be discussed. The goal is to demonstrate how to interpret patient data – explain what the labs and physical data mean within the patient’s therapy and disease process – and make recommendations. The team approach will be emphasized. In addition, the speakers will provide tips and take aways to apply when a full nutrition team is not available.
