Count the CFUs: An Interactive Experience (Open to ALL Attendees)

Environmental monitoring is vital to patient safety. Understanding what is happening in a clean room suite and achieving a state of control is the responsibility of all members of an organization. With the recent changes to USP , sampling requirements are more stringent and ensuring team members are trained and engaged in the process is crucial. Understanding how to accurately and correctly read and count colony forming units (CFUs) is critical to understanding what is happening in your clean room and what may need to be done for corrective action. This interactive program will teach the basic concepts of counting CFUs and allow attendees to work through real-life examples to determine how many CFUs are growing at any given time. Led by Abby Roth, members of the NHIA Sterile Compounding Practice Committee will moderate and engage with attendees during this dynamic learning experience.
