This presentation uses real examples of nurse, pharmacist, and pharmacy discipline from a regulatory body to place the audience in a clinical scenario and ask them what ought to be done. The discipline events focus on conduct related to infusions and patient care.
What is the most important thing you want attendees to take away from your session?
Care must be taken to follow policies and procedures because what in the moment may seem like a minor and acceptable deviation, may lead to license discipline.
Excluding your session, what other topics are you passionate about in relation to the home and alternate site industry?
I am passionate about advancing home and alternate infusion models that prioritize patient safety, empower clinicians and develop strong, accountable leaders. Creating scalable systems that expand access to complex therapies and deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes across diverse care settings.
If you had a paid year off work, how would you spend it?
I would spend some time in Italy learning Italian cuisine and embracing the simplicity of daily life. I'd deepen my gardening skills, perhaps even urban farming while slowing down, creating and reconnecting with the rhythms that inspire both my personal and professional life.
If you had a secret identity, what would your alias be and what would you be known for?
My alias would be The Catalyst, known for creating momentum, clearing obstacles, and aligning people and processes to move ideas into action, often behind the scenes.
What’s your “it’s not a big deal, but it is” hill to die on?
I choose honesty and integrity, even when it's uncomfortable or comes with consequences.
