Amber Mertz
DME Medicare Administrative Contractors (MAC)
Describe your session in a tweet.
Join your DME MACs at NHIA for an engaging education session on Medicare billing, compliance, and best practices for home infusion providers. Learn, connect, and stay ahead! #NHIA2026 #Medicare #HomeInfusion
What is the most important thing you want attendees to take away from your session?
Comprehensive understanding of the most frequent CERT‑identified errors and specific documentation requirements. This knowledge is key to improving Medicare claim accuracy, avoiding costly denials, and maintaining compliance with DME provider standards.
Excluding your session, what other topics are you passionate about in relation to the home and alternate site industry?
Supplier development, and documentation practices to ensure beneficiary access to medically necessary drugs and nutrition.
If you had a paid year off work, how would you spend it?
I’d focus on things that combine growth, creativity, and giving back!
If you had a secret identity, what would your alias be and what would you be known for?
Shadow Cipher Known For: Quietly decoding complex challenges and revealing hidden solutions that others can’t see, always one step ahead, leaving a trail of insight, not footprints.
What’s your “it’s not a big deal, but it is” hill to die on?
If it’s not documented, it didn’t happen. And... if it’s documented in Comic Sans, it shouldn’t have happened (kidding, or am I?!).
