This station focuses on advanced aseptic manipulations, including manual and automated reconstitution, preparation of final dosage forms (e.g., syringes, bags, elastomeric devices), and the use of automated compounding devices (ACDs). Participants will practice best techniques for minimizing contamination risks, maintaining first air, and ensuring precise medication preparation. Key concepts such as anti-coring techniques, filtration, and the importance of proper device calibration and tubing changes will be explored.
Perform aseptic preparation of final drug products, including syringes, IV bags, and elastomeric devices, while maintaining first air.
Understand ACD operation, including calibration requirements, tubing changes, and placement considerations based on smoke study findings.
