This station provides hands-on training in the preparation of sterile compounded preparations using automated compounding devices (ACDs). Participants will learn proper setup, calibration, and operation of these systems while adhering to USP standards for sterile compounding. Key topics include equipment handling, formulation entry and verification, device-specific workflow considerations, quality control procedures, and maintaining aseptic technique throughout the compounding process.
Demonstrate the proper setup, calibration, and priming of an automated compounding device (ACD) for PN preparation.
Explain the importance of continuous monitoring for flow rate consistency, proper mixing of components, and adherence to maximum hang times for ingredients.
