Training employees in many aspects of the home infusion process is required before you can test for competency. The documentation of the training is required before testing the competency of the employees for that task. This program identifies the areas that require testing. These may be requirements of USP, FDA, State Boards of Pharmacy or accreditation organizations. Competency is documented after the employee has been trained. Organizations must develop programs that can ensure that employees receive the education they need to pass the competency tests. Discussions will identify the programs that require documentation that the education piece is completed prior to the competency being documented. Well trained workers ensure that tasks are done correctly and safely. This helps achieve our goal of providing safe and accurate treatment for our patients.
