Learning Objectives

  • Identify state-specific nursing and home health regulatory requirements, including when a home health agency (HHA) license is required and when nursing services may be provided under alternative state regulatory frameworks.
  • Describe state requirements related to Plans of Treatment (POT/POC) and physician orders, including circumstances in which an in-state licensed physician is required to sign nursing orders for services delivered in the home.
